123/366 My neighbours
This chook belongs to my neighbours but I often find it and its friends roaming my lawn area. Hope they don’t get into my vege garden!
122/366 Cow stampede
Where else but Tasmania could you have cows crossing the road less than 15 minutes from the centre of a capital city?
120/366 Egg cases
116/366 Eat this??
The aboriginal people of Tasmania often ate from the rocky shores near the beaches. Did they eat this type of sea lettuce?
113/366 Inchmen
What are these, you might ask? They are nasty little ants with a terrible bite. Some people will have allergic reactions to their relatives, jackjumpers, so be careful in woody or beach areas where these fellows live, especially if wearing open toed shoes or going barefoot.
110/366 Death on the roadside
Tasmania has a lot of roadkill due to many animals coming out at dusk to feed. Wonder what happened to this snake?
106/366 Baa baa
Black faced sheep found on a property between Ouse and Bothwell while I was following a gravel road.
85/366 Kor Kor
Another noisy bird found in Tasmania at this time of year are what we call crows but they are in fact forest ravens. They make a deep kor kor sound.
71/366 White Heron
61/366 Ducks
In our street we used to have a group of three ducks wandering around. I noticed recently, this has expanded to about 15 of them and they love visiting the grass area of my neighbour’s property.
55/366 Who is sitting on my roof?
Came out of the local store the other morning and guess what was perching on my car roof? Had to stop and take a few images of this little fellow.
